What is a good material to use for park benches?
I have an assignment to redesign a park. I have to use different materials for benches and other stuff. The benches that are there now, are some kind of wood, and look worn away and breakable. Is there a better material, like some kind of metal?

Stainless steel, make it out of forks.
re cycle. Use old skis! They are flexible and long lasting
Aluminium / Copper / Zinc.
Polycarbonate.
stainless steel is in Europe the most just material
There are a variety of newer materials that resemble wood, but are actually made of a high percentage of consumer recyclables (such as old grocery bags / water bottles, etc...). You may want to look into such a product, as they last a tremendous amount of time, are quite durable, and are not TOO much more expensive than pressure treated lumber. If you have too much trouble locating these materials, consider searching via a residential deck installer. They are usually available, though, at retail home centers and lumber yards.
environentally friendly plastic that is strong enough.
